Mailing List Moderator Instructions

The following instructions are intended for use by those designated as "Moderators" of the mailing list.

Preferred method of posting a message:

1. Point your browser to our mail site http://mail.richmondfriends.org/

You will arrive at a SmarterMail login window.

2. Enter the login code and password

3. Click "Login"

4. Click on "New Message"

A generic e-mail entry form appears.

5. Enter the text of your message

6. In the "To:" line, enter "News@richmondfriends.org"

7. Fill in the subject line

8. Send it.

Alternate method of posting a message:

1. Send a message from your normal email address to

"News@richmondfriends.org"

Reason1 for not doing this: The message going to the subscribers will carry your personal e-mail address.

Reason2 for not doing this: This only works from pre-defined e-mail addresses (the "white-list"). If you have more than one e-mail account, you forget which one is registered and use the wrong one.
